MOCA Health provides patients with safe, structured, and convenient access to medical cannabis treatment through a two-part model: the clinical side and the dispensing side.
On the clinical side, MOCA contracts independent medical practitioners who have completed a mandatory training program covering global cannabis research, patient-specific dosing strategies, TGA compliance, and long-term patient safety standards. This ensures that all consultations are delivered with both expertise and regulatory precision.
Patients connect with practitioners via Halaxy, a secure telehealth system that manages bookings, payments, intake forms, and medical data. The platform allows patients to book online anytime while giving practitioners access to a patient’s history before the consultation, ensuring focused and efficient care.
A first consultation involves three steps: booking online, completing an intake form, and attending a 15-minute telehealth call. During the call, the doctor reviews history, discusses treatment options, and if appropriate, initiates a prescription. The practitioner then submits a Special Access Scheme (SAS) application to the TGA, with approval generally completed in 24–48 hours. Once approved, the prescription becomes active for dispensing.
Follow-up consultations are required for renewals, treatment adjustments, or monitoring patient outcomes. Prescriptions remain valid for 6 months (THC) or 12 months (CBD).
After approval, patients transition to the dispensing side through MOCA’s secure portal, where they can review prescriptions, order medications, download titration guides, access attestation letters, and manage repeats. This clear division ensures that clinical care remains distinct from medication access, delivering both professional oversight and seamless patient support.
